Campuestohan Highland Resort – Negros Occidental’s most well-known tourist destination.
Looking for an instagrammable spot in Negros? Then you should consider visiting the Campuestohan Highland Resort!
There’s no denying it: Negros Island is gifted with nature’s best offerings – from lush green mountains to sparkling beaches and everything in between, #travelNegros now and you’ll surely find unique places you have never seen.
Negros is divided into two provinces: Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental. One of the most visited tourist destinations in the island is the Campuestohan Highland Resort.
Disclaimer: The photos I will be sharing with you guys were taken a couple of years back, the first time we went to the resort. I’ve been there multiple times and it never fails to amaze me. There’s a lot of improvement and it’s definitely more fun now in Campuestohan.
Standing more than 800 meters above sea level and situated in the boundaries of two of the progressive cities in Negros Occidental – Bacolod City and Talisay City, a 5-hectare property owned by the family of Cano Tan is nestled in the verdant slopes of Mt. Makawili.
This place has an excellent location with a stunning panoramic view, unique attractions and features a wide range of exciting outdoor activities.
For an entrance fee of ₱150 for adults and kids over 2 years, you can then explore the vicinity and enjoy their wave pool for free. If you are into extreme adventure and looking for a good thrill, you may try their fun-filled activities which are offered at a very reasonable price, considering the awesome experience you wouldn’t think twice.
Here are some of the extreme activities you may enjoy while you are in Campuestohan:
Rope Course – ₱200.00/person.
Zipline – ₱200.00/person
Hamster Wheel – ₱100.00/person
And a lot more.
What’s more impressive about this place is the remarkable architectural design of their accommodations. If you have a plan to visit and stay there overnight, they got teepee and Bonita huts ready for you. And yeah! you bet, they’re too cute. Truly, they are all Instagram-worthy!

You may opt to stay in the log cabin as well.
There’s a pavilion where you can have a decent meal. Food was good, prices were not that outrageous, just a little bit higher than in the city. Additionally, you can use their wifi service without charging you any fees.
How to get there:
The resort is approximately 30-45 minutes ride from the City of Smiles and it’s accessible via taxi, private/rental cars, and resort shuttles. Alternatively, guests can also take a public jeepney from Burgos Market, Bacolod going to Brgy. Alangilan then a tricycle ride going to Campuestohan Highland Resort.
On our recent trip (May 2018), we took their own shuttle service which only costs us ₱50/pax. Their loading and drop-off point is located at iMart Convenience Store in Circumferential Road, Corner Burgos Ave. beside Caltex Fuel Station (just across McDonald’s East).
Note: All of their official resort vehicles have Campuestohan Highland Resort logo.
Campuestohan Daily Shuttle Schedules are as follows:
- Bacolod City to Campuestohan – 7:00am, 8:00am, 9:00am, 10am, 11am, 1:00pm, 2:00pm and 3:00pm
- Campuestohan to Bacolod City – 8:00am, 9:00am, 10am, 11am, 1:00pm, 2:00pm, 3:00pm, 4pm and 5pm
Overall, the place is beyond photo-worthy, not to mention it’s incredible scenery. Certainly a perfect getaway for family and friends who want to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. You should include this in your travel list as this is the kind of place you shouldn’t miss.
This is indeed a nice side trip in Bacolod and definitely one of the most noteworthy places to visit when you’re in Negros.
I’ll be wrapping up this blog by posting more photos. See ya on the next one!
